Fabulous! I didn't realize that 'do had such a long running history. And ehmygod, you included Singin' In The Rain!! :) (freaking out more than a little)

Misfits - I think that this look would be PERFECT for summer. I don't know if you're in as hot of weather I am, but the less hair on your neck in this heat, the better... so why not be chic about it?

Ruby-May - isn't crazy how somethings just slip by unnoticed for years and years and years? And its more than recycled fashion, because it never goes out of style! haha

Oh no Anonymous - dear Liza! I was going to put her in, but my internet browser with google pics I was looking up of her shut down, and then I just forgot after that. Ahh I feel bad now

Jessica - I honestly think Anne looks fab in this and could rock it anytime. Maybe she'll take the plunge and chop off those long locks of hers... after all, she did it for "Rachel Getting Married" - maybe she'll do it for fashion this time :)

Great post. What about Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction? :)

Also Catherine Zeta Jones in "Chicago". I love this look and I would totally get my hair cut this way.

Anonymous - AHH yet another person I forgot! I remember brainstorming this post and thinking of Uma but then I forgot! I think I need a brain scan or something to see if I have some short-term memory problems

Daphne - yet another good one. I need to rewatch "Chicago" because catherine was so glammy and fab in that movie. I remember wanting to look like her and have all those gorgeous pieces.

Wow, I never noticed how popular and repeated this Louise Brooks hairstyle was. What an awesome observation! I have to say, I surprisingly love Anne Hatheway rocking this look. Also, Katie Holmes has NEVER had a greater haircut then this one. It seriously complements her sooo well.

Oooh great post! I loved scrolling through all the reincarnations of my namesake ;-) Isabella Rosselini - divine!

It is such a dramatic cut, it was nice to see the softer versions too!

This is a minor observation - the Cyd Charisse photo in the red dress is actually from 'The Bandwagon' & I only know that because I made a video once using clips of her dancing in it with Fred Astaire... But the green one is from 'Singin' in the Rain', the two looks are almost identical :)

Had not seen the Birkin photo before! But of course I love it ;)
