Maybe it's residual Black Swan influence or maybe it's the fact that I am in the middle of rehearsals for our university production of The Nutcracker, but I am so inspired by ballet right now.
Pretty much any shot from Black Swan is gorgeous, but I love this sequence of Nina's final performance
Lauren Hutton poses as she does her pre-ballet stretches
The legendary Red Shoes of the cinema
France Gall has a blast in her ballerina costumery
Natalie Portman's Nina looks flawless
A scene from Singin' in the Rain featuring Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse
Brigitte Bardot on point
James Dean. Swoon.
I was all about Center Stage growing up
I love the formation of all of the dances in this image
Title: from "At the Ballet" (Chorus Line)

I love all of these photographs. I seriously regret quitting ballet in high school, I miss it so much. I love that you had a picture from The Red Shoes, that is one of my favorite films!
These pictures are absolutely stunning. I have wanted to do ballet since I was a toddler, but alas I haven't yet gotten the chance.
I went through a little obsession with ballet recently, it was after seeing the Nutcracker last Christmas and watching Black Swan, it's such a beautiful style of dance. I just wish I started ballet from a young age as I am farrrr to old to begin doing it now.
Love the Chorus Line reference!
the painting with the 4 dancers and the men who look like quakers is beautiful...do you know where it is from?
